Your Privacy Matters: This Privacy Policy explains how Gearsoft Engineering collects, uses, and protects your information when you use OmniJudge MTG ("the Software").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Usage Information
The Software may collect:
- Device information: Operating system, app version, device type
- Usage statistics: Number of card searches, AI queries, life counter usage
- Error logs: Crash reports and error messages for debugging
- Performance data: Response times, loading duration
1.2 Card Search Data
When you search for cards:
- Search queries: Card names, text searches sent to Scryfall API
- Search results: Card data returned from Scryfall
- Viewing history: Recently viewed cards (stored locally on device)
1.3 AI Judge Queries
When you use the AI Rules Judge:
- Questions: Your rules questions sent to Google Gemini API
- Responses: AI-generated rulings and interpretations
- Conversation history: Recent questions and answers (stored locally on device)
Important: Your AI Judge questions are sent to Google Gemini API for processing. Google may process this data according to their own privacy policy.
1.4 Game Data
When you use the Life Counter:
- Life totals: Player life counts during gameplay
- Commander damage: Damage tracking per commander
- Game preferences: Starting life total, number of players
All game data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
1.5 Local Device Data
Stored locally on your device only:
- Preferences: Theme, display settings, default starting life
- Cache: Recently viewed cards, AI conversation history
- Deck lists: Personal deck compositions (if saved locally)

3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local Storage Only
OmniJudge MTG stores all user data locally on your device:
- No cloud storage or server synchronization
- No account creation or authentication required
- You have full control over your local data
- Data is deleted when you uninstall the app
- Data is not accessible to other users or devices
3.2 Third-Party Data Transmission
Data sent to external services:
- Scryfall API: Card search queries are sent over HTTPS to retrieve card data
- Google Gemini API: AI Judge questions are sent over HTTPS for processing
We do not control how these third-party services process your data. Please review their privacy policies:
3.3 Security Measures
- Encryption in transit: All API requests use HTTPS/TLS
- API key protection: Gemini API key is embedded in the app and not exposed to users
- No password storage: App does not require or store passwords
- Local-only data: Your data never leaves your device except for API queries
3.4 Data Retention
- Local data persists until you clear app data or uninstall
- We do not retain server-side copies of your data
- Third-party services (Scryfall, Google) retain data per their own policies
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
Gearsoft Engineering does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
4.2 Third-Party Service Providers
Data is shared with:
- Scryfall: Card search queries to retrieve MTG card data
- Google Gemini: AI Judge questions to generate rules interpretations
These services process data according to their own privacy policies and terms.
4.3 Legal Compliance
We may disclose information if required by law, such as:
- Complying with legal process (subpoenas, court orders)
- Protecting rights, property, or safety of Gearsoft Engineering or others
- Investigating potential violations of our Terms of Use
5. Your Privacy Rights
5.1 Data Access and Control
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
- Access: All data is on your device and accessible through the app
- Deletion: Clear app data in device settings or uninstall the app
- Export: Currently not supported (data is local-only)
5.2 Opt-Out of Data Collection
- Card Search: Cannot be disabled (core functionality)
- AI Judge: Don't use the AI Judge feature to avoid sending data to Google
- Analytics: No third-party analytics are currently implemented
6. Children's Privacy
The Software is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us.
7. International Users
If you use the Software from outside the United States, please be aware that:
- Data may be transmitted to third-party services (Scryfall, Google) that operate globally
- Your data may be subject to different privacy laws
- By using the Software, you consent to data transfer and processing as described
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Software or via app store update notes. Your continued use after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The Software may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., card detail pages on Scryfall). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
10. No Cloud Accounts (Currently)
The current version of OmniJudge MTG does not offer cloud accounts, authentication, or server-side data storage. All features work offline except for:
- Card searches (require internet to query Scryfall)
- AI Judge (requires internet to query Google Gemini)
Future versions may add optional cloud features with user consent.
11. Analytics and Tracking
The current version does not use third-party analytics or tracking services. If we add these features in the future, we will:
- Update this Privacy Policy
- Allow you to opt out
- Use only privacy-respecting analytics services

- Data processor: Google (for AI queries), Scryfall (for card data)
